My dentist had recommended Dr. Jacobson to me years ago. I had put it off, but knew I needed braces. The alignment was off and my smile was not good. I thought, What am I waiting for? At the time, I was about 47 and thought that I deserved a good smile. Not only did I want it done for aesthetics, but for the function - I wanted a healthy, functionally correct bite also. I came in and met the doctor and his staff and they did some exams and imaging.

I have known Dr. Jacobson for almost 17 years. He has taken care of my 3 children, who are now 18, 22, and 24. I, myself, have been a patient of his as well. When we first came he made a suggestion that he look at my teeth as well. I had braces as a child but the teeth shifted. I had gotten used to not breathing. I've never been able to breathe out of the right side of my nose. I just accepted it and managed to get by without it and breathe through my mouth when I had to. The surgery was simple; it was calm, professional and really didn't hurt that much. After about 4 days you are functioning pretty well, and after about 2 weeks you get back to normal quickly. It's been 6 weeks since my surgery and I honestly cannot believe the outcome. It's beyond anything I could have hoped for. I think it has a lot to do with the team involved. Dr. Jacobson is exceptional in what he does and Dr. Schendel is a renowned surgeon and I can see why. I just remember coming here a few months ago and was hoping I would only have to get braces and fix my under-bite. I was really scared at the idea of having to undergo jaw surgery, so I was really hoping Dr. Jacobson would tell me that he could fix it waith braces alone. When he took me into his room and told me he was going to have to 'move my jaw' I was really scared and worried about the journey, how everything was going to turn out, what I was going to look like, etc. I just really had to put my trust in his hands and everything on him. I was really scared, but they both have a way of making you feel completely at ease and they both exude confidence and experience. It's just really easy to trust him and I am really glad I did.
I feel that everyone at the office is extremely professional, really does care about the patients, and they all know my name which feels really good. It's like a family and it's something you really need because going through jaw surgery is such a life-changing experience and so major to go through, you really need to feel comfortable. I can't imagine having gone to any other office to do this.
I'm 27 now and knew I needed the surgery when I was 12 years old. It's been a long journey, but I'm finally post-surgery and feel great. I'm a lot more confident about myself and speak better. When I look in the mirror, I feel like I'm really looking back at who I am and who I was supposed to be. My bite feels great. Eating is a lot easier - in fact, there are a number of things which have improved, so I am grateful for that.

He's very much at ease with his craft and his work and you can just see that and the experience that he's had for over 30 years. I was just so impressed with the way he was able to just looka t me and study me for a few minutes and decided what needed to be done. It was his personality and the way he is that just put me at ease and it really gave me the confidence that I was doing the right thing, moving in the right direction, and in the best hands.
I am really grateful to him because he was really there for me on the day of surgery. I remember him walking in about a half hour before surgery and he had a smile on his face and was very calm and peaceful and it put me in a good place because I was nervous. The last thing I remember before going under was him there, holding my hand and telling me it was going to be alright. It put me at ease and you can't put a price on that and it's not just that he is a good persuader, the results are incredible, even just a few days after surgery. I had read a lot of blogs and seen a lot of YouTube videos of people going through similar surgery and my experience was magnitudes better and easier than everyone elses. I guess what i want to say is going to these doctors is totally worth it.
I am so grateful and will always be grateful. Every time I look in the mirror I am going to be thinking of them and it is wonderful. I just hope they know how much I appreciate them and will definitely be sending my family and kids here in the future if they ever need anything. Thank you very much.

It put me at ease and you can't put a price on that and it's not just that he is a good persuader, the results are incredible, even just a few days after surgery. I had read a lot of blogs and seen a lot of YouTube videos of people going through similar surgery and my experience was magnitudes better and easier than everyone elses. I guess what i want to say is going to these doctors is totally worth it.
I am so grateful and will always be grateful. Every time I look in the mirror I am going to be thinking of them and it is wonderful. I just hope they know how much I appreciate them and will definitely be sending my family and kids here in the future if they ever need anything. Thank you very much.

I am here because of severe migraines due to TMJ. I see Dr. Myers once a week for massage therapy and I wear a nightguard. The nightguard is very comfortable to wear and its almost addictive!
