PROCEDURES:

BROWLIFT

Aging causes the brow to sag and the associated furrows or ‘worry lines’ can make you look sad, tired, or angry. A brow (or forehead) lift corrects the sagging of a low positioned brow and smoothes the furrows between the eyebrows and across the forehead, making you appear younger and more alert.

Depending on the individual patient, a brow lift can be performed through multiple incisions or a single incision hidden within the hairline. Alternatively, a brow lift can also be performed with other procedures such as a facelift or an eyelid surgery.  Our preferred approach is through 3 limited incisions in the hairline and the surgery is done using a minimally invasive technique with an endoscope.

CHIN SURGERY (GENIOPLASTY)

Genioplasty alters your profile by augmenting or reducing the chin, thus affecting the harmony of your facial symmetry and enhancing your appearance. Furthermore, a genioplasty can relieve the strain on the facial muscles (the mentalis, in particular) when you close your lips.

Techniques include a sliding genioplasty, where the bone is physically cut and slid either forward or back, or a chin augmentation with the use of an implant. All incisions are made inside the mouth so there is no visible scarring. A genioplasty is an outpatient procedure with a limited recovery period.

CHEEK AND FACIAL IMPLANTS

Some people are born with small or deficient bones that detract from their appearance -- most commonly in the chin, cheekbones, or lower jaw. Facial implants to these areas can produce remarkable aesthetic improvements and a more harmonious facial balance.

Facial implants are made of biocompatible material and are custom-shaped for each person. The surgery is generally performed from inside the mouth with no visible scars and involves a limited recovery period.

EAR SURGERY (OTOPLASTY)

Otoplasty (ear surgery) is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures for children. An otoplasty can permanently correct protruding ears, large or deformed earlobes, ‘lop ear’ (where the tip bends down and forward), and other malformations of the ear, as well as ears that are too small or too large.

The procedure improves the appearance of the ears to create a more harmonious facial balance by reshaping the ears, 'pinning' them back, removing or sculpting excess cartilage, or making them look more symmetrical. Incisions are hidden behind the ear and technique will vary depending upon the desired results. Results are immediate following a limited recovery period.

EYELID SURGERY (BLEPHAROPLASTY)

Heredity and aging greatly affect the appearance of your eyes. Drooping skin in the upper eyelids may make you appear sad or angry, while puffiness or bags in the lower eyelids may make you look worn out. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) corrects the excess skin and fat in both the upper and lower eyelids, resulting in a more youthful and energetic appearance.

The surgical approach is tailored for each individual. Generally, for the upper eyelid, the incision is hidden in the normal eyelid fold. In the lower lid, the incision can be combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as a face lift, facial implants, tissue augmentation, or resurfacing.

FACELIFT (RHYTODECTOMY)

A face lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure giving patients a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance by removing the excess or sagging skin that causes deep wrinkles, jowls, or fatty necks in people over 40. Age causes the skin to go lax, a problem exacerbated by a lack of underlying bone or dental support and deterioration of the tissue.

The incision is generally hidden in the natural contour in front of and behind the ear extending into the hair.  The skin and underlying tissues are released and pulled backwards and up and the excess tissue is then removed. In some cases, an additional incision is made under the chin to smooth and lift the neck.

The actual technique used is tailored to each persons unique features. In some younger individuals, a mini-lift may be performed through smaller incisions with a shorter recovery period.

FAT TRANSFER

For patients who may be allergic to collagen or other substances, a facial fat transfer achieves the same face-smoothing results as injections without the risk of allergic reaction. Our doctors use your own fat to fill in sunken cheeks, smooth out wrinkles, augment lips, or fill in hollow areas under the eyes.

JAW (ORTHOGNATHIC) SURGERY (BSSO & LEFORT I)

Orthognathic surgery corrects jaw and bite disorders, facial disharmony, sleep apnea, TMJ disorders, (which cause pain in your jaw joint), severely crooked teeth, and other disorders involving the structure of your face.

FCLA boasts one of the most experienced orthognathic surgical teams in the world. Proprietary 3-D imaging creates a 3-D virtual patient from scans to simulate surgery, allowing doctors and patients to visualize the surgery in 3-D and collaborate.

LIP AUGMENTATION

Lip augmentation enhances the beauty of your lips by making them fuller or reducing lines and wrinkles. FCLA offers a host of options to dramatically improve the appearance of your lips, including fat transfer, Juvéderm, and prosthetics.

MID-FACELIFT (RHYTODECTOMY)

For people with sagging cheeks without jowls or neck wrinkles, a mid-facelift offers a less involved facelift surgery that restores a smoother, younger look to your lower eyelids, cheeks, nose and mouth.

Small incisions are made under the lower lash line and sometimes in the nasiolabial fold (the crease of skin on either side of your nose and mouth). Tissue and skin from the middle of the face are pulled up to smooth and tighten the skin. An endoscope is used to give the procedure the highest precision possible. Because a mid-facelift is more precise and less invasive than a standard face lift, recovery time is much more rapid with less discomfort and bruising.

NOSE SURGERY (RHINOPLASTY)

Nasal surgery (rhinoplasty) improves the appearance of the nose by changing the shape and size of the nose. For noses that are too large, wide, humped, crooked, or deformed by injury, nasal surgery results in a more natural look with the nose in harmonious balance with other facial features. Apart from appearance, the surgery may also improve breathing when combined with other procedures that correct a deviated septum (the tissue separating the two sides of the nose) or a reduction of the turbinates (hereditary swellings) inside the nose.

Surgical techniques are carefully matched to the patient's unique cosmetic and medical needs. Most frequently, nasal surgery involves only incisions inside the nose and produces no visible scarring. On rare occasions - such as a revision surgery or complex nasal deformities - small incisions will be made at the base of the nose that allow the cartilage and bone of the nose to be reshaped. Chin surgery may also greatly improve and balance the appearance of your nose.
